GN Systems Limited provide its customers with the best possible outsourced products, manufactured to the highest standards. To achieve this, our focus has always been on listening to customer requirements supported by flexibility, quality, and excellent service every time.
GN Systems Limited currently operates from a single 16,000sq. ft. facility in Bolton, Greater Manchester as a Contract Equipment Manufacturer. The company offer a variety of production services, which includes prototype runs, through-hole and surface mount electronic assembly, cable harness assembly, and box building services.
To complement the manufacturing capabilities, the company also offers a design service with PCB layout, embedded software services and, when required, research and development projects, allowing the team to consult and advise on customer projects from inception to completion.
We take on outsourced manufacturing with customer free-issued materials but we’re always happy for customers to take advantage of GN Systems’ full RoHS compliant procurement service. We have built relationships with an extensive network of suppliers and brokers and our purchasing power allows us to pass on our bulk buying discounts coupled with our specialities in sourcing and managing hard-to-find or obsolete components.

OUR HISTORY
1980
GN Systems was first established in 1983 as a partnership between Gerry Russell and Nick Usher, who had gained extensive experience working within commercial electrical installations. The company quickly diversified to take on opportunities within the electrical sector as well as electronic design and assembly of products. With an increasing customer portfolio across the late 1980’s, GN Systems eventually relocated to larger premises at Undershore Works, Bolton, Greater Manchester.
1990
At the beginning of the 1990s, the company was joined by a third partner, Carl Griffiths, and began to gain vast design and manufacturing experience in the Healthcare sector, assisting key clients with their product offerings to the NHS and private nursing homes.
In 1999, the company had doubled its workforce, and after three years of developing a fully documented Quality System, it was awarded ISO 9002, which was then superseded by ISO 9001 certification and is still actively managed today.
2000
In 2002, the company expanded the production facilities at its current premises, taking on two further industrial units. The partners then took the decision to incorporate the business into a Private Limited Company.
The board of Directors helped form a new company, a new collaboration called Transport Support Limited, which operates within the Transport Safety industry. In 2006, Transport Support became a division of GN Systems Limited and is now operated as a trading name of GN Systems Limited. Visit our website to learn more – www.transportsupport.co.uk
With further expansion to the company and workforce came further diversification and in 2006 the company took the decision to utilise the knowledge and expertise it had gained in the Healthcare Industry to form a new division, GN Healthcare – seeking opportunities to work with nursing homes, care homes and other care providers. 2010
In 2013, Gerry Russell, an original partner, retired ending a 30-year era at the company. Under his guidance he helped transform the business from contracted electrical work to utilising innovative new technologies in electronics, developing the company to specialise in both PCB Design and PCB Manufacturing using knowledge passed down and a commitment to staff training.
2020
2020 then saw the introduction of a new Manufacturing Resource Planning ‘MRP’ system. This has enabled tighter controls and flexibility over our production planning, scheduling, and inventory control. Giving us greater alignment with our customer needs, who often require faster turnarounds or sudden changes to scheduled production. We continue to explore new technologies and methods of working to better serve our growing customer base.
GN Systems looks forward to celebrating 40 years in business in 2023. This milestone could not have been reached without the support of our employees and the trust of our clients. We’re proud of our past endeavours and we’re excited about our future!
